Agreeing to these terms

These terms are an agreement between you and GranDish (“GranDish,” “we,” “us”), the family meal planner at grandish.app, run by an independent developer in Ohio, USA. By creating an account or using GranDish, you agree to them and to the privacy policy. If you don't agree, please don't use GranDish.

Your account and household

• You need to be an adult to create a household. You're responsible for the members you add, including any children.
• Give accurate information and keep your sign-in safe. Tell us at support@grandish.app if you think someone else got into your account.
• Household admins can change settings, connect services such as a calendar, and invite or remove members.

Your content

Recipes, photos, notes, plans and everything else you add stay yours. You give us permission to store, copy, process and display them only as needed to run GranDish for your household, including sending recipe photos to the service that reads them (see the privacy policy). We don't claim ownership and don't publish your content.

Only add content you have the right to use. Family recipes and your own copies of cookbook recipes for your household are fine; please don't use GranDish to republish someone else's copyrighted work.

Food, allergies and the AI reader

GranDish is a planning tool, not a nutrition, medical or food safety service. Allergy and diet flags come from matching ingredient names and can miss things, such as an allergen inside a packaged ingredient or a brand's recipe change. Always check labels and ingredients yourself for anyone with an allergy or medical diet.

Recipes read from photos and web pages can contain mistakes. GranDish asks about anything it isn't sure of, but please look a recipe over before cooking, especially amounts, temperatures and cooking times. Follow safe food handling, and cook meat and eggs to safe temperatures.

Fair use of the service

Please don't:

• break the law, or use GranDish to harm, harass or deceive anyone;
• try to get into accounts or data that aren't yours, or probe, overload or disrupt the service;
• upload malware, or content that's illegal or not yours to share;
• copy, resell or scrape the service, or use it to build a competing product.

Other services

Some features connect to other companies' services, such as Google Calendar. Your use of those is also covered by their terms, and we're not responsible for them. You can disconnect them at any time.

Price and changes to GranDish

We may add, change or remove features over time. If we ever introduce paid features, we'll tell you first, and you won't be charged for anything you haven't agreed to. If we ever shut GranDish down, we'll give at least 30 days' notice and a way to get a copy of your recipes.

Ending your account

You can stop using GranDish at any time, and ask us to delete your account at support@grandish.app. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts the service or others at risk; where it's reasonable, we'll tell you first and let you get a copy of your recipes.

No warranty

GranDish is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. We work to keep it running and your data safe, but can't promise it will always be available, error-free, or that no data will ever be lost. Keep your own copy of recipes that matter to you.

Limit of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, GranDish won't be liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost data, arising from your use of the service, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the past 12 months or $50. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you.

The legal bits

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Ohio, USA, without regard to its conflict of law rules. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts in Hamilton County, Ohio, unless the law where you live says otherwise. If part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies. If GranDish is ever transferred to a new owner (such as a company we form), these terms carry over.

Changes to these terms

We'll update the date at the top when these terms change, and tell you in the app before a significant change takes effect. Using GranDish after that means you accept the new terms.
